Now that summer is over, I'm beginning to actually like the change of seasons, because along with it comes the activities that are appreciated more when the seasons change. My advice to anyone that has relocated to a colder climate, (myself being a transplant from California) would have to be this; make the most out of every season! Another words, don't get so overwhelmed by the winter months. The key is to enjoy each season. Spend as much time doing the seasonal type activities that really make each change of season special. Right now it's autumn in Kansas. That brings harvest time and Halloween!

If you live in Topeka, or the surrounding area, then you may be interested in some events that will be going on here. The first one that I'm going to mention is a wonderful Helen P.Avery stage adaptation of Oscar Wilde's "The Canterville Ghost". It's called, "The Ghost of Canterville Hall".
It is the story of an American family that happens to move into a haunted English castle. The spirit of Sir Simon, who by the way, was starved to death while he was chained up in a secret room 300 years ago, also makes his home in the castle.

This is a youth production, cast members are from ages 8 to 15. Jennifer Fletcher is the director and assistant director,Craig Fisher. They have all worked so hard and I encourage you to take your family to see this. October 12,13 and 14. There are 2 shows, 2PM and 7PM
The place to see it:
Oldfather Theatre, located at Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy, 3028 S.W. 8th Street,Downtown Topeka
Tickets are $8.00 and can be purchased in person at the box office,or by calling 785-357-5211,or by going to www.topekacivictheatre.com
By the way, get on the mailing list for up coming productions.

Takeaways
  • Fall is such a fun time to get out and about!
  • In the Topeka and surrounding are, there are quite a few things going on.
  • I'm going to tell you about some Halloween places to see.

I love reading about Halloween events in other areas. The only problem is that I'm to far away to go to them and some of them sound really cool! :)
