YMCA International House Salisbury Hotel Kowloon, Hong Kong

Checking into the YMCA International House Salisbury Hotel was the best idea I had while in Hong Kong. After spending 2 nights at the USA Youth Hostel and 1 night at the Cosmic Youth Hostel it was a dream come true when I arrived at the YMCA International House Salisbury Hotel. Check-in was at 12 noon, but the friendly and accommodating hotel staff permitted me to have an early check-in at 11am. The one night I spent there cost $116 USD, I had booked online, you may be able to get a cheaper rate by contacting the YMCA International House Salisbury Hotel yourself. I had never put the words YMCA and luxury in the same sentence until I stepped into my room at the YMCA International House Salisbury Hotel. The room at the YMCA International House Salisbury Hotel was clean and spacious. The rug and linens were very clean. There is no "when was this washed last blanket and bedspread" like you find in USA hotels. Instead there is a clean white duvet cover and a fluffy comforter. The pillows were also white and fluffy. The cable TV had many channels in English including, 3 movie channels. There is a small refrigerator in the room and a stocked mini-bar with reasonable prices.

The bathroom at the YMCA International House Salisbury Hotel was clean and full of amenities. The hotel provides: shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, fluffy towels and washcloths, telephone, hand towels, shower cap, 2 sanitized glasses and an adjustable shower head with great water pressure.

The view from the YMCA International House Salisbury Hotel is lovely; my room was on the 11^th floor. Rooms with a view of Victoria Harbor are more expensive as you can see the "Symphony of Light" show from your room that begins every night at 8pm. The light show consists of the Hong Kong Harbor buildings and their multi-colored flashing light display, sometimes including laser lights and fireworks.
