Shabby Chic Picture Frames that Hang

You can turn any wood frame into a Shabby Chic wood framed can hang from a ribbon. These simple wood frames really look great in a little girl's bedroom with the addition of some simple ribbon.

To Transform Pain Wood Frames Into Shabby Chic Wood and Ribbon Frames You Will Need:

Wood picture frames

Power drill

Ribbon

Paint

The first step is to go ahead and take the glass and cardboard out of the wood frame. You will need these later, so do not discard them.

Now, lay yoru wood frame on a flat surface. With a pencil you want to mark a dot on the top left and right corners. This dot should be right in the middle of the wood frame. The middle form the two edges.

You can make the hole in the corner or in the top edge of the frame.

Now, use a power drill to pre drill the holes all the way through to the back.

These two holes will hold your ribbon to hang the shabby chic picture frame with.

Now, lightly sand the wood frame and paint it if you want.

Next, cut a long piece of ribbon, about 10 to 16 inches long. Slip each end through a hole in the frame. You want to slip the ribbon through the front of the frame.

Tie tieback of the ribbon, being the frame in a knot. A double knot will work best.

Pull the middle of the ribbon back away from the front and you will see the shabby chic frame can now hang on the ribbon!

Insert you picture and hang your wood frame in any room in need of some shabby chic decor.

Now, If you are making a large wood frame using this shabby chic hanging frame method, you may find it needs more support than the ribbon has to offer. In this case, hang the frame on the wall as before using the picture hook in the back of the shabby chic frame.

The ribbon can also be hung, but will be merely for looks.

If you do not want the look of the hanging shabby chic frame, then use those same two holes you drilled in the wood frame in a new way.

Run the ribbon in through the back of the holes. In the front tie the ribbon into a bow! This will transform any boring or plain wood frame into an awesome shabby chic wood frame that looks expensive!
