This simple Fall flower and candle centerpiece is the perfect low key and elegant centerpiece on a coffee table or your Thanksgiving dinner table. I simply love this elegant Thanksgiving centerpiece because it can be made a day ahead of time and stored in the fridge to keep the fall flowers fresh!

To Make This Fall Flower and Candle Centerpiece You Will Need:

One rectangle platter

Floral Styrofoam block

Fall colored flowers

Knife

Candles

The first step is to cut your piece of floral foam. This can easily be accomplished with an everyday kitchen knife. Simply crave out a long thin channel in the middle.

You will want the bottom of the channel to be as felt as possible. It should be about one to two inches deep. You can skip this if you are using large are tall flowers that have a big look.

When you place the large Fall colored blooms, they will create a natural channel in the middle fo the candles.

Now, soak the floral foam in the sink in some water. Once the foam is saturated you want to place it in the middle of the rectangle shaped platter.

Now, start cutting your fall flowers. You want to cut the flowers off so that they have about a three inch stem on them. Remove any leaves that are not right at the base of the bloom on the fall flowers.

Now, start in the middle of the floral foam and start pressing the flowers into the foam. You want to avoid that channel, or create on as your press the flowers in.

If you are going to use leaves or green in this Fall flower wedding centerpiece, then press those in first.

This will be the bottom layer. On top you can overload with the Fall colored flowers.

Now, in the channel or middle of the top of the Fall flower centerpiece you can run a line of candles. If you are worried about fire, then use small candles placed in clear glass candle votives. Tea candles will last about three hours and work just fine.

You can run a row of pillar candles, but if they emit a ton of heat, then they may melt the sides of the pillar candle next to them.

Another option is to insert non drip tapered candles into the center of the channel of the Fall flower centerpiece. You can fill any gaps with more Fall colored flowers.
