Fall Party Ideas for Preschoolers
Gather all your child's best buddies and their moms and host a party to celebrate Fall. Pick a craft, share some Fall food, and enjoy the changing weather together. Divide up the tasks among the other mom's to make thing easier. Most of all remember to relax and let your little ones have fun.
Little kids love pumpkins. Think outside the box when it comes to decorating. You don't have to carve the pumpkins, and with lots of little ones you probably won't want too. Try painting, crayons, or stickers as alternative ways to decorate. Mini pumpkins and small gourds are easier when many children are decorating their own pumpkin.
Instead of individual pumpkin decorating, make it a group effort. Buy one very large pumpkin, and make a pumpkin person. Let each child decide on one aspect of the pumpkin's looks such as eyes, mouth, or hair. Get creative and accessorize the pumpkin. Maybe the pumpkin person needs a scarf for the chilly weather or maybe she's a fashion diva with a fabulous purse. Come up with a name and take pictures with all the kid's posing with the pumpkin.
Enjoy yummy snacks or a themed lunch together. Cut sandwiches with cookie cutters in Fall shapes such as pumpkins or leaves. Decorate leaf shaped cookies with icing or sprinkles in Fall colors such as red and orange. Cupcakes can are also easy to decorate. Preschoolers can help cut up apples using an apple corer to be used for a pie or simple snack. Use this opportunity to encourage the preschoolers to try a new food, such as in season pomegranate. You could serve pumpkin muffins and apple cider. Use melted peanut butter and Karo syrup over corn flakes to make a leaf pile that can be eaten. Anything with cinnamon is sure to be a hit. Provide spiced tea and some other grown-up treats just for the moms. They'll be sure to appreciate the gesture.
