Are you curious as to what will be the hottest home fashions over the next coming year? Well, you would know if you had attended the High Point Market the first week of October in High Point, North Carolina. This show is known to set the trend for home furnishings. The High Point Market is held twice a year and attracts people from across the country. The trends that were revealed at this event were announced in a recent press release from High Point Market Authority.

According to the press release the High Point Market is the largest home furnishings trade show in the world. It is hand twice each year and attracts interested parties from over 110 countries. Some of the areas that the High Point Market has defined for home furnishings in the coming months are color, print patterns, texture, shapes, designer details, and the era of the furniture and furnishings.

As far as colors go, the festival indicated that earth tones will be very popular in home furniture and other furnishings in the coming months. The most common colors are brown and green. Grays and metallic colors also appear to be popular choices for home furnishings in the coming months. Patterns for home furnishings are trending towards geometric designs. The popularity of floral patterns and animal skin patterns still are expected to remain popular though.

The texture of patterns at High Point Market indicated home furnishings will beg to be touched in the coming months. Intricate patterns will be common, along with materials that inspire guests to touch them out of curiosity as to what they feel like. Some popular materials will include suede, leather, and metallic inlays.

Shapes of furniture are leaning towards long and rectangular designs. These will allow plenty of room on the home furnishings for guests, but there still are "uneven" edges to many. These edges are referred to in the press release as "origami edges", indicating jagged shaped edges to the ends of home furnishings.
