Where to Download Hip Hop Beats and Instrumentals
If you just want to listen to some hip hop instrumentals in your car, at home, or just for pleasure, then what site to use is not really going to be a problem for you. I would suggest to just go download whatever beats you like, and that they aren't charging too much for.
The problem comes in for the people that might be aspiring hip hop artists or rappers that need beats but can't find a good producer, dj's searching for new hip hop tracks to mix, or producers that are starting off or are in need of hip hop instrumentals and sounds. Many of the sites out there are what I call overpriced and "underproduced." By this I mean that people are charging monthly membership, or large amounts of money for rap beats that sound like they were made on Fruity Loops in 5 minutes. They sound cheap and are of low quality.
Other sites don't even let you listen to the beats before you buy them, so you don't even know what you are buying. Sites like these should be completely avoided, unless you like gambling on whether you will like their beats or not.
Another problem is that some sites with hip hop beats for sale are not just selling them to you. They either keep the royalties themselves, or they allow other people to download instrumentals that you already downloaded. Obviously, this is not going to work well for people that are trying to put out an album, or produce their own hip hop music.
The best beat sites are sites that have royalty free rap beats, not ones that you don't own. Secondly, you have to be able to hear the tracks before you pay for them. But most importantly, they have to be of good quality and be professional. Cheap sounding beats make your music sound cheap. Find a site where the beats are made by professionals, or at least industry level producers. Its a lot easier to get into the hip hop industry when you have industry hip hop beats.
So, be careful to check sites out, and avoid ones with high cost and low quality beats.
