The entire Italian population has quite a different idea of Italian food than American's think. Pizza, while one of the most popular Italian treats, is a little different in Italy than we think. If you want great Italian pizza pie with a little Italian speak on the side, try Brother's Pizza in Charles Town, WV. This spot is one hidden gem. Entering Brother's Pizza, you will notice little or no money has been spent on redecorating the place in the last 20 years. But, that does not matter, because Brother's does not need to impress you with design, thanks to some of the best pizza outside of Italy.
The menu is simple and inexpensive. Nothing on the menu is more than $20.00 (that would be for a huge pizza with everything in the house on top) with most priced under $10.00 for an entire meal. The food on the menu is simple but great. Pizza, fries, great subs, pasta and some of the best garlic bread in the nation.
The pizza made at Brother's is the real town favorite. I have no idea what the owners of Brother's make their pizza out of, but I do know how good it tastes. The dough is made by hand and is tossed high in the air, in front of you. The toppings are varied and plentiful with the cheese being to die for. The cheese used on Brother's pizza has an almost sweet and smoky scent, with a smooth almost creamy feel in the mouth. I can not explain the greatness, everyone should be able to taste this pizza.
My second favorite meal to order is the pepperoni stuffed calzone. Again, it is hard to explain the pleasure one gets from tasting the best food on earth. Onions, ricotta, mozzarella, provolone, and pepperoni are all stuffed inside the hand tossed dough and baked to perfection. A beautiful thing.
The food is not the only positive experience at Brother's Pizza. The atmosphere is fun, lively and full of Italian. There is nothing like hearing your order yelled to the chef in the romantic Italian language. You keep Italy, I'll take Brother's Pizza.
