I live in a very small town that was once home to about 800 people. That town has grown tremendously over the past 5 years, due in large part to Shaw Air Force Base, located just three miles down the road. Luckily, unlike most small towns that grow so rapidly, we have been blessed with some great new neighborhoods, and in turn, some awesome neighbors. This is a brief review of one of those neighborhoods, Rolling Hills.
Located just off of Old Camden Highway, about .25 miles off of Highway 521, the noise level off this area is so low that you would think you are miles from a major thoroughfare. The location of both of these highways makes the local towns very accessible, and just a few miles away in either direction. This subdivision offers a variety of floor plans, easily navigated streets, and a few stores within walking distance.
Dalzell itself is not a big town, and it doesn't have much to offer. But thanks to the great location of Rolling Hills, the few things that the town does have are within walking distance. Just outside of the neighborhood are a local sandwich shop, a dollar store, and a gas station. Just 2 miles up the road are two more gas stations, a great little Chinese food joint and local park that offers picnic tables, historical markers and more. Just a couple more miles past the park, and you are in Sumter, which offers everything from chain eateries (such as Applebee's and Ruby Tuesday's) to department stores including K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Sears and more. The only thing that is missing would be a major electronics supply store. Though we have a small Radio-Shack in the mall, it is quite a drive to the nearest Best Buys.
