So, you've been experiencing some work related problems. You've tried to solve these problems peacefully and there's no stopping the problem from getting worse. A lot of people hate their jobs yet they continue to go to them for another 30 years. You know that there's no possible way that you can stay at this job so you start to plan ahead. You need to make a list of things you need to do before you show up to work one day and quit completely. Don't worry, you can get all this figured out in a week if you need to but if you don't leave prepared it can really backfire on you.

You need to realize that by quiting this job it might create more problems. Think of the loss of income. It's not easy finding a job. You will probably need at least 6 months of money in the bank to live off of just in case you cannot find a new job right away. It's really hard to find a good job and you might be taking a pay cut which you might not like. I know you're probably thinking your co workers and boss cannot get any worse but in some cases they will be and you need to be prepared for this to happen. Don't expect your boss to be nice to you because your boss is an authority figure. If your boss let people do what they wanted to do, your co workers would walk all over your boss.

Perhaps you can resign from your position. In this case, you will not want to slip up and tell anybody until you tell your boss. Don't tell any friends or neighbors that you are planning on resigning. It will always come back to your boss first. You will need to write a resignation letter to your boss and then meet with your boss in a meeting to discus what happens now. Ask your boss if it would be helpful for you to train the person who is taking over your position. Perhaps this would leave you with a good note. It's always best to try and leave with your head up and the problems solved. You cannot take this back, do it right.
