Racking up frequent flyer miles equals hours of sitting in the airport, sitting in planes, sitting for delays...basically a lot of sitting. For the seasoned traveler, comfort and distraction are key. Here are some gift ideas for the jet setter on your list.

A neck pillow. We've all giggled at the dorky design, but frequent travelers know the best way to kill time is to catch up on some extras Zz's. If you are like me, there is not a comfortable enough position that exists in a plane seat to get any quality sleep, yet those U shaped pillows offer just enough support that I can nod off and not get a crink in my neck.

Ipod or MP3 player. To calm nerves, pass the time, or ignore your annoying seat partner, an Ipod is an amazing investment. Any frequent traveler knows how much more quickly the time passes with a little music.
Portable DVD player. I never thought I would appreciate these, but my parents bought me one for Christmas. They are light weight and far less bulky than my carrying my laptop on the plane. The picture is good, battery life was excellent, and my boyfriend and I are both able to plug in ear pieces. The screen was unlike a laptop screen where you have to be directly in front of it to see. Both of us were able to see a clear picture from our respective seats.

Books and magazines. If there is a traveler on your list who is a book worm, consider getting them a few books, or a magazine subscription. Look into book clubs that offer reasonable prices so they can constantly have a new selection.

Cross words or suduko. Traditionally, these were booklets, now, there are a variety of books, booklets, and electronic devices that offer these games. By stimulating your mind, time passes and we actually learn a thing of to on long flights.

Game Boy or Electronic Device. I have a travel Tetris game that will literally keep me entertained for hours. Anyone with children may want to consider finding a portable game system. They are normally reasonably priced. For adults, games like Tetris and Solitaire are quite popular.
