Dealing with stress and anxiety is unavoidable. Stress is present in everyday whether we like it or not. Not effectively dealing with stress can lead to increased anxiety and even depression. But bringing stress to manageable levels is easier than you think. Here are 5 ways, easily incorporated into every day, that can help you manage stress and avoid anxiety and depression.

1. Think Positively. Thinking positively is the cornerstone of effective stress management. Train yourself to see the positive in every situation. Read inspirational books and surround yourself with positive people. It takes awhile for positive thinking to become automatic, but once it does, it's money in the bank of your well-being. That's because it's hard to feel stress and anxiety when your world view is a rosy one.

2. Make Self Care A High Priority: Only you know what makes you uniquely happy. Do not depend on others to provide happiness and excitement for you. Make your own self care your highest priority. Schedule something to look forward to every single day. Whether that involves seeing a movie, having quiet time alone, or pursuing a hobby, don't allow life to get in the way of your self care. Taking care of yourself will make every aspect of your life more tolerable and less stressful. Also, make sure that you are taking care of yourself by getting enough rest, prioritizing your commitments, and eating well. Doing so will help keep stress in check, which in turn will limit anxiety and depression.
