Want to know more about Wicca and Paganism? There are many books on the market now that aim for those who are interested in Wicca, but perhaps don't know where to start. The hard thing isn't getting a book, but getting one that has everything you need, and none of the "fluff". A good guidebook will teach you the basics, and remind you that in fact, you set the rules on solitary Wicca. It is not easy to get into Wicca as a solitary practitioner, considering the many fluff books out there.

That's why I love this book by Raymond Buckland. One can count on any of his work as being non-fluff, generally speaking. Although I am a second generation witch, my grandmother passed on before sharing most of her secrets with me. So I was left alone to discover my interest in the occult.

Raymond Buckland does a wonderful job of teaching you the basics of Wicca and how it began. He goes into detail on different methods of divination; he provides you with an extensive glossary of terms and properties of magical herbs.

This is truly a book that one can read over and over again.

His ritual circle casting is clear, concise, and simple. He even provides spaces for you to fill in the names of your own deities while casting the circle.

This is a book that needs to stay in your library for years to come. It's a great starter to Wicca. I recommend this book, not just for beginners, but for those who want a good simple approach to Wicca. Raymond Buckland doesn't fail you in this great starter to Wicca.
