Metrogel 1% Topical Antibiotic: A Review
Metrogel 1% Topical Antibiotic is a treatment for acne rosacea. It was available in a 45 gram tube and now has been released in a 60 gram tube for the same price as the 45 gram tube. It is a non greasy medication and will dry clear on your face;
I love this product. I first was given small tubes of this along with samples of another medication. The other medication was creamy, lumpy, didn’t sink into my skin and was terribly messy. It also made my mouth dry and my skin horribly dry. I saw no improvement with the other medication, but saw an immediate improvement when I started the Metrogel. I am now on Metrogel 1% solely.
Topical antibiotics are a daily defense in the day to day treatment of rosacea, it is meant to kill any germs and bacteria that have hit your skin’s surface. I myself have noticed a tremendous decrease in the redness and in the pustules that I had a year ago to what I have now. I have only taken Metrogel 1% for my rosacea (after the initial sample pack of the other medication was done with), and have not taken an oral antibiotic, so I know that the differences in my rosacea are from this and nothing else.
Metrogel 1% Topical Antibiotic will last a long time for one tube. You only need a very thin layer on your skin. Putting it on thickly will do nothing but make you waste it, more doesn’t equal faster healing. I put on a lighter coat before my makeup in the morning and the normal thin layer at night before I go to bed. I make sure it’s good and dry before lying down so that it doesn’t wipe off on my pillow.
If you have acne rosacea and want to find something that really tackles that redness and those annoying pustules that look like pimples, ask your dermatologist if Metrogel 1% Topical Antibiotic is right for you. My face has become both clearer and smoother because of this drug, and I haven’t suffered from any side effects in over a year of usage.
