FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lombard, IL (October 3, 2007)-Over the past year the Lombard community has enjoyed the surge of new shops, new attractions and new restaurants. The latest addition to the growing restaurant community in Lombard is D.O.C. Wine Bar (326 Yorktown Center) part of a vibrant and growing Chicago restaurant company whose management team has a passion for great wine and great food. This is one of the reasons their past restaurant ventures have been so successful. As plans for their early November opening draw closer, D.O.C. Wine Bar in Lombard is currently looking to fill more than 60 positions with great people who also possess this love for great wine and food and a positive, friendly attitude.
"Part of what makes our hiring process so successful is that we always have an owner meet with potential candidates" said Derek Rettell, co-owner of D.O.C. Wine Bar. "Having an actual owner of a restaurant present at an interview is exciting to a new employee; it really makes a statement about what kind of company we are."
"Rather than have an influx of resumes sent to us, we encourage people to come visit us, fill out an application, meet with an owner and really get a sense of who they will be working with," commented Rettell. Since beginning their hiring process at the end of September, D.O.C. Wine Bar has had more than 50 applicants apply for positions from servers to kitchen staff. Within the next three weeks, they expect to see more than 500 applicants to be interviewed at the actual site of the establishment.
The need to aggressively seek out the best job candidates has become a necessity in Lombard, where rapid development of new businesses has resulted in many new jobs. With so many jobs available in Chicago's western suburbs, potential employees can be choosy; they want to learn about the culture of the work environment just as much as they want to learn about the job for which they will be hired.
