You usually notice it after you have left the house or at the last minute, and it seems like no matter what you do you can't get it off. Here are some tips and tricks to avoid deodorant stains on your clothing.

First is to avoid getting the deodorant on your clothes in the first place. You will likely notice that you only get those white marks with clothes you pull over your head like t-shirts, blouses, knit dresses and sweaters. To avoid the white streaks from deodorant in the first place, fold the bottom 2 inches of your shirt (or about 6 inches if it's a knit dress) up over itself all the way around before putting it on. This prevents the shirt from bunching up under your arm and streaking the deodorant in the first place. If the deodorant still gets on your garment, its' usually on the inside where it does not show. It also helps if you use a clear gel base deodorant instead of a white creamy base, but even the clear kind can leave the streak marks. If you use a creme instead of a roll-on, you need to allow extra time for your deodorant to dry.

If you manage to get deodorant on yourself anyways, it will not come out with just water or by trying to rub it off. It may at first appear to have gone away, but that is only the deodorant going clear while it is soaking up moisture, then it will turn into a larger white chalky appearing streak, and if you tried to use tissue to clean it up, you now have deodorant streaks and you are linty. If you rub it in you will likely embed the deodorant into the fabric. If it is a t-shirt or other washable clothing item you can try liquid soap and very little water applied lightly with a paper towel (not tissue or toilet paper which will just break apart upon contact with the deodorant) and dab at the deodorant in a scraping motion, try not to rub.
