Publicity. Recruiting. Public Relations.

Community outreach is a major way to foster the growth of any company, whether the business is an already established presence in its industry or a brand new, young startup. Company owners looking to spread awareness of their business operation and services, those wishing to portray a positive image of it, or even the folks who need to turnaround an existing public opinion that may happen to be negative would be extremely wise to get the company and its employees involved in corporate philanthropy and community service affairs, as soon as possible. Here are three key reasons why:

Publicity
A company's efforts to raise funds or offer physical labor to help its community or any community, really, that is in particular need, is an excellent corporate philanthropic move for all types and sizes of businesses. The attention to real life and humanity related causes, or more specifically, a benefit of sorts that does not result solely in monetary rewards for those who participate is sure to cause a buzz in the media. Editors are left in the dust that do not run material of this nature especially if the company doing the good community service is one that most would not expect to give such aid.

Newspapers, magazines, news stations and other media outlets are sure to assign their writers stories on this, and maybe a couple photographers too, which can only help the company promote itself, naturally. Publicity leads to awareness and name recognition along with a positive or negative image associated with the brand. And as long as the corporation serving the community is certain to carry out the community service with all good and honest intentions it is fairly difficult to draw bad press.

Recruiting
Community outreach and corporate philanthropy efforts are also very effective in attracting new employees. By getting out there and making the company visible to its society of customers, not only will awareness of its deeds and assistance be brought to more people, but a more positive image will also likely ensue along with it.

Takeaways
  • Corporate Philanthropy measures are often taken by large businesses to help them appeal to customers
  • Community service aid is a great way to help your business grow.
  • Companies seeking to add some good publicity to their record should consider community outreach.
