For children one to 14, the second leading cause of accidental injury-related death is drowning and is the leading cause of accidental-injury death for children one to four, according to Safe Kid's Worldwide. One of the best ways for a parent to help prevent their child from becoming a statistic and being a victim of drowning is to equip your child with the skills necessary to survive in the water, and swimming lessons are a great way to do that. There are several places in the Louisville, Kentucky, area that offer swimming lessons for children.

Swimming is excellent exercise as well as a safety measure! We taught our grandkids to swim in the backyard pool.
