How do you know how to become a player mod?
I don't care if you believe this or not, but I played RuneScape for 3 years before quitting. After 1 year of playing, I was given Forum Moderator status. 3 months after that, I was given a silver crown. If you don't believe me, then simply don't read. But I will tell you this. If you follow my guide, your chances of becoming a player mod will increase.

What RuneScape says makes you become 'Recognized'

You can view the narrow player mod guidelines for runescape at http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=2452

What it really takes to be a player mod
  • Jagex mentions briefly that being active on the forums is part of it. It is true. Post on the forums as much as possible. Post in places that you are familiar with, and don't break forum rules. There are Jmods constantly patrolling the forums, so your name will be noticed.
  • Reporting players is a must, but If you use the 'Bounty Hunter' tactic (Standing in Varrock reporting autotypers, etc.) then you may not be picked. After looking in the player mod forums, it seems that Jagex picks players who like to have fun in game. So when you report players, do it while playing the game. Don't just sit at the yews and report macroers.
  • Jagex mentions that helping out other players helps. It does, but usually not when you do it in game. There is no real great wayto help players in game, Seeing as there is no 'Report a kind player' button. My advice is to help people using the official forums.
  • A clean record is almost always necessary. Jagex chooses over 50 new mods a month and out of that only mods about 10. You can bet that the ones with no offences will be chosen.
  • This is not mentioned in the knowledge base, but player mods can suggest other players to be modded. Therefore, if you are good friends with a player mod, you will have a better chance of being recognized.
  • Correct grammar and spelling... Jagex doesn't want illiterate players representing their company in game.
Player Mod Rumors... and the truth

-Player mods can ban people.

No, but they can mute players...

-Player mods are Jagex staff in disguise.

If you are actually a player moderator, Why would you even give out the 'Secret' Information of the moderators? I'm sure that's not a very good way to help out the Runescape Community. That's very dishonest of you to go and post this for all to see. I'm a normal Runescape player, and I can see that this is no good. I play the game fairly, Reporting As I see It. I Knew almost all of this, Other than the parts about Moderator Material.

Nabil, Jagex can choose whoever they want to be a player mod. You don't have to be lv 70, and you don't get things like free membership or beta tests.

Hi everybody, I am a Runescape moderator and my name is Nabil. Because the game is getting bigger and better each day, Jagex is recruiting new player moderators to help control a stable environment in the game. Player moderators are almost like staff members -- they can mute players, temporarily ban them, and they also have some very special priveleges such as a free members account (without any monthly fee), ability to moderate official forum discussions, and being the first to test out BETA game updates (they are soo much fun to do) However, please note that you must be at least level 70 to apply for a moderator position and have a generally good Runescape history. When the staff reviews your history, they will send you a form in your inbox to complete. When they recieve your form, they will notify you of their decision. So if you think you are willing to accept the responsibility and try out for a moderator position, please send a E-mail to vivek_thetransformer@msn.com wi

Lol....someone trying to impersonate me in this thread. The random things you find when you Google your username. Can't even use proper spelling, grammar, or capitalization...and he tries to impersonate me. LOL! *gets bored and goes to see if anyone else is trying the same trick* And if anyone else finds this thread: There is absolutely NO WAY of becoming a mod besides being helpful and polite ingame and on the forums. Any website that says they can make you a mod is a scam tactic - they'll steal your password for sure.

some things you said der is rubbish. you can still become a player mod with history of offences. Your spelling dosent have to be perfect unless you wish to become a forum mod. Eg. Insted of writing the, i could write da...

There is no website to become a player mod.The only way to become a Mod is to be nice in the game and not break any rules and report people who do break he rules so Jagex can take care of them and decide their punishment.Selling your account and advertising websites to become a Mod wont get you to become a Mod anytime soon.So be nice and go by the rules and you might become a Mod one day. Thank you Mod Dave,
