An easy way to breed your Betta's is to have a ten gallon glass fish tank set up with about three inches of water and several artificial or live plants for the female Betta to hide in from the male while they court each other. Place a glass chimney in the tank anchoring it in the aquarium gravel. Place the female Betta inside the glass chimney and the male Betta in the aquarium. He should be able to see her and normally will go to the glass and swim around her trying to get to her. Keep them apart until she begins to show horizontal bars on her sides showing her willingness to breed. The male should begin building a bubble nest in between swimming back to the female. The female Betta will tip her head down and show horizontal bars on her sides when she is accepting of a male. Release her from the glass chimney and now the fun begins.
