One of my addictions right now is to save the planet; it's a good addiction in my opinion. To feast this turning green attitude I have fallen in love with a green company called Ecover. The latest product that I put to the test was the Ecover Laundry Softener compared to my traditional product of Snuggles laundry softener. Did the two compare or was there a big difference?

Usually in my household I use Snuggles to get our clothes nice and soft while in the washing machine. Following the trend of the 2000's, I still use the Downy laundry ball (an automatic laundry dispenser) that is convenient for adding laundry softener to every cycle without having to waste my time waiting around for the rinse cycle to add it manually. When the Downy ball first came out, many people thought that it would only work with Downy laundry softener however I found that the mechanism works with any laundry softener just the same.

Our health store just recently came out with the Ecover product line which I am thrilled about to say the least. I have tried other products such as the Toilet Bowl Cleaner and the All-purpose Cleaner made by Ecover and have been enlightened by the power of natural ingredients compared to traditionally used chemicals such as bleach. Ecover spends millions of dollars each year in research discovering how to produce natural and healthy products that can safely be used in the household without neglecting sanitary practices.

Usually my family goes through at least one laundry softener bottle in one month, this may seem like a lot however having soft clothes is a necessity in our household. There have been other products in our household before on different occasions however we always seem to be drug back to Snuggles since it works the best. Using about 2-3 oz per laundry load, the clothes are soft to the touch and leave a scent to the clothes. Some of the scents by Snuggles are: White Lavender and Sandalwood Twist; Purple Fusion; Pink Flare; Orange Rush; Green Burst; Blue Sparkle; Melon and lotus flower lift; Peach Blossom and sunshine swirl; and Wild Orchid and Vanilla Kiss. The favorite in our household is Wild Orchid and Vanilla Kiss.

A really interesting article, thank you. I just had the misfortune of having my washing machine die on me this past Thursday. (It stopped in mid cycle, then gave up its ghost.) The water was absolutely, positively repulsively filthy! (I am still bailing it out.) We need products that are genuinely good for the purposes for which they're intended, and good to the earth as well. My husband, who has his doctorate in chemical engineering, remarked "what a difference a little phosphate would make" - aaagh!

Yep Lenora, I am addicted to the company's products. Such as a good Green concept to manufacturing such green products.
