By now you've heard of that trendy parents across the nation are plunking down a grand for a designer pram without hesitation. But did you know that designers are now getting into the action? That's right there's a lot of news in the world of luxury strollers.

Graco was one of the first stroller companies to team up with a design talent. In 2006, they brought fashion designer Cynthia Rowley on board to update the design of their moderately priced Mosaic stroller. The limited edition Mosaic stroller is covered in an adorable fruit print-a signature of Rowley's feminine and whimsical designs. Style-conscious moms on a budget loved the fun fruit design and responded to Graco's feel-good clause: With each purchase a donation is made to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. If you're interested, there are still a few of these available but you'll have to hurry before they disappear. ($200)

This year another female designer is getting in on the baby action. In September, Lela Rose unveiled her exclusive Quinny Buzz Stroller. Rose's limited edition stroller features a thumbprint design and splashes of red. Rose says she was inspired by the "handiwork" of her two kids when dreaming up this zippy stroller. And like the traditional Buzz design, this limited edition stroller has all the bells and whistles: a reversible/reclining stroller seat, hydraulic technology, and height-adjustable handle. Included with purchase are a sun canopy, storage basket, rain shield, wind stoppers, bug net and Maxi-Cosi Mico car seat adapters. To generate additional "buzz" Quinny limited the production to 300 strollers. ($999.99)
