The Kidde 900-0146 carbon monoxide alarm is an excellent device for many reasons. CO, or carbon monoxide, is a very poisonous gas and continuous inhalation may even choke you to death. CO is a colorless, tasteless and above all odorless gas. Human beings can hardly detect it, so a detector is vital in order to detect it. The Kidde 900-0146 is totally battery operated three AA batteries supplies the necessary power to this device.

It updates itself every 15 seconds; as a result you are always safe guarded. Moreover, in order to indicate it is fully functional, when there is no CO, the designers have carefully included a green LED which gives a flash every 30 second indicating to the user it is working. You cannot get CO from your corner store to check whether it is working or not, am I right?

This Kidde 900-0146 come with a plastic body, it is not going to undergo any stress so I believe the plastic body is more than enough. It is battery operable, so there is no need you got to search for an electric outlet. As it depends on battery, I do not need to worry about it when there are power shortages. Above all, if the battery is low, it has an indicator which would promptly tell you to replace it, so that you can get CO detection without any hindrance.

The Kidde 900-0146 can be easily mounted on a wall with out any hassle and if you don't like to hang it over the wall, it comes with a small stand so that you can place it over any flat surface depending on your convenience. The Kidde 900-0146 comes with a loud 85 dB horn and if CO is detected it would definitely wake you up, there is no any doubt in it.

The Kidde 900-0146 does not have any drawbacks at all, it has all the essectial features needed. It also comes with a test/reset button so that you can check the unit for its functioning. It comes with a snap open cover through which you can easily replace the batteries when needed. The only real drawback is if you have concrete wallsit can be a bear to install. Also, constantly changing batteries is a chore.
