If you knit or crochet and live in the Louisville, Kentucky or Southern Indiana area you will want to check out the Knit Nook. The Knit Knook is located in the Highlands area of Louisville, Kentucky. Not your grandmother's yarn shop, The Knit Nook is co-owned by a young woman, who took up knitting to help her quit smoking at the age of twenty, and her mother. Expect to be welcomed by friendly faces ready to help you. Whether you have never picked up a needle and yarn before, need to find the perfect yarn for a project, or are stuck on something more complicated they'll be able to help. A testament to their great customer service skills is the fact that I can send my hubby with a list to pick up supplies, and he'll be brining what I need home.

The Knit Nook offers a variety of classes for both those who knit or crochet. Current and upcoming classes include felted bags, socks, cabling, Christmas stockings, and skirts. No matter what your skill or experience there is a class for you. Students receive a 10% discount on all purchases at the Knit Nook while in class. Private lessons are available for $20 an hour.

Supporting local fiber artists, charity projects, and local farms, the Knit Nook is involved in the community. They stock only quality yarns from companies such as Blue Sky Alpaca, Rowan, Mission Falls, Brown sheep, and more. Can't find what you're looking for? The Knit Nook will place an order for the yarn or color that you need. Hooks and needles are sold in a variety of materials and a variety of brans as well. Popular knitting and crocheting books and magazines are stocked. They carry the Stitch n Bitch series, Vogue Knitting, Rebecca, Rown, and others.
