The Cinnamon Controversy
Does Cinnamon Help People with Type 2 Diabetes?

Cinnamon, Is It A Help Or Not In Dealing With Diabetes? There are scientists in Oklahoma that say it is not proven that cinnamon helps people with Type 2 Diabetes. Frankly, I would like to say I don't think they have done enough testing or research.
Through personal experience I know that it DOES work not only for me but also for many other people I have told about it. My husband is a good example. He is on insulin twice a day and was having a time with his sugar. Since he has been taking cinnamon twice a day his glucose levels have dropped from 389 to 146 in only four weeks.
The important thing to know is, that it will not happen overnight. It does take at least three to six weeks for most people, before they begin to notice the change on their glucometers.
When I first started taking cinnamon I bought the pills over the counter at Walmart in a bottle marked Cinna-Max. This bottle contained 500mg capsules and it said to take it twice a day. I would take one in the morning and one with my evening meal. My husband thought I had lost my mind and let me know that I was just wasting my time and his money. However within three weeks my sugar began to drop a tiny bit each morning when I took it. When I went for my A1C test (which is the test they give you to see how your sugar is doing over an extended period of time, for those of you that are unfamiliar with it) my sugar was slowly creeping down.
My doctor was most pleased and that was when I told her that I'd been taking cinnamon tablets. She said she had no knowledge of this and she was going to monitor my progress. Well, she has and my sugar now is down to 6 on the A1C test, which is considered normal. She has taken me off the Actos pills that were making my feet swell, anyway. I was thrilled and my sugar continues to be in great shape. We are aiming to get me off the one other tablet I take for type 2 diabetes, but not sure when that will be. Time will tell.
