If you are interested in bartering, there is no need to join an online group. If you have something to offer, and are willing to provide a service or product in return, you can barter for personal, business, or even financial gain. Bartering simply defined, is trading. There are many websites dedicated bartering. There are forums, groups, and many other outlets for those who wish to barter. However, you do not need the internet to barter, although you may reach a broader audience with this method.

My husband, by profession, provides a service that few people can perform. The area in which we live is full of people who, at some point, are interested in his service. We are in the process of making upgrades to our business, we have purchased a pre-fabricated out-building to use as an office and display area. The building arrived on our property as a virtual shell. Completely unfinished, we had a bit of work ahead of us to make this building presentable.

The first task was to run electricity to the building. As luck would have it, two days after the building arrived an electrician was interested in my husband's service. They struck up a deal. The electrician would wire the building in exchange for the service. The only thing we would need to purchase would be the fixtures. I mentioned our good fortune at work the next day. My boss told me that he had fixtures to exchange for the service. Within one week, the trades had been made and we had electricity in the new building. We were unable to find anyone to barter the insulation. We did purchase that from the local home improvement store. We are now in the market for carpeting. We have shopped and found some great deals, but I am holding out for a great barter.

We have fencing that needs to be put up as well, I am guessing within a couple of months we will be able to find someone with which to barter that as well. Bartering can get you exactly what you want with absolutely no money out of pocket, if you have something of value to trade.

This is a great idea. I need to learn to barter rather than giving stuff away all the time!

Bartering is second nature to me, I have bartered my autobiography many times with other authors for their autobiographies, lol. It is a strange thing in life but when we give in some way it always comes back to us in some way!
