Amaretto Poem, A Real Knockout What is a holiday without some cheer,
and I'm not just talking about, plain old beer.
I'm talking about a delicious almond drink
the one that make you feel all new and pink.
I'm talking about that great liqueur Amaretto
The kind that makes you sing in falsetto.
Here is the recipe short, simple and sweet.
Make it, drink it and get knocked off your feet.
Take 3 cups of sugar, granulated will do,
Add 2 1/4 cups of water and 3 lemon rinds in too.
Bring to a boil, turn down and then simmer a while
five minutes is fine if stirred with a smile.
Cool it completely and then its time to add
the following ingredients that will make you glad.
1 quart of vodka, 2 TBS extract of Vanilla,
This should delight even your best fella,
Now if you find this ingredient handy
be sure to mix in 3 TBS of Brandy
Last of all, you need 3 TBS almond extract,
And be sure to make that amount exact.
Store in a tight jar, all nice and neat
Makes about 6 1/2 cups of this grand-y-osus treat.
But beware my friends, the taste is divine,
however this is not ordinary table wine.
It'll make you smile, it'll make you well
but it also gets you drunk as hell.
