James Bond walks purposefully into the casino wearing a custom tailored white dinner jacket and black tie. He sits down and buys his way into a baccarat game which inevitably seats him next to an exotic and stunning young woman. His drink arrives, a martini which is shaken and not stirred, he reaches for the glass thereby revealing the Omega Sea Master 2531.80. I could stop here and do the review justice. I mean come on; this is the watch of 007. It just does not get any cooler than that.

The watch itself is manufactured by Omega, a company known world wide for precision engineered Swiss time pieces, and is the official time keeping chronometer of the Olympics and other events. The Sea Master 2531.80 has a close relative, the 2541.80, which differs in the fact that it is powered by a quart movement while the 2531.80 is powered by an automatic movement. The mechanical movement of the 2531.80 is an Omega design which has the ability to store 44 hours of power in reserve.

The watch itself is 41mm in width and around 43mm including the crown and valve cover. A true diver's watches, the 2531.80 features a blue dial and face with luminescent hands. A highly scratch resistant sapphire crystal allow easy reading of the watch face and date while at the same time resisting nicks and dings, but it is still possible to get scratches so you do need to be careful. The Sea Master is rated at a water resistance of 300 meters or 1000 feet and for this purpose has a cleverly designed helium escape valve designed into the watch. The case is constructed of stainless steel and typically found with a stainless link bracelet with alternating highly polished inner links. A deployment buckle is engraved with the Omega logo and "Sea Master" which also a diver extension which gives additional room when wearing a wet suit. The back of the watch depicts the new famous Omega Sea Dragon surrounded by waves.
