For children halloween filled with great fun and excitement. Children usually go trick-or-treat on Halloween and this can pose some safety problems. The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission has recommended some simple halloween safety tips that will ensure a safe Halloween. 1. Parents should warn their children not to eat any treats until adults have examined them thoroughly for tampering. In case of any doubt don't give them to children.
2. Costumes should be of bright and light color to be easily visible to motorists. Additionally it is safer to use reflective tape on costumes, bags and sacks so that they are easily visible in the dark. As their costumes will glow in the dark, children will simply love them. Reflective tape is easily available in bicycle, hardware and sports stores. Children should carry torch lights when moving in the dark.
3. Children should not wear very long clothes to prevent tripping and falling. Children should wear sturdy and well fitting shoes and without high heels. Scarfs and hats should be securely tied to prevent them from slipping over the eyes of children. Swords, knives and other costume accessories should be made of soft and flexible material.
4. Use only flame resistant costumes and accessories like beards, masks and wigs. They should carry the 'Flame Resistant' label which will ensure that even though they catch fire they are easily extinguished when removed from the source of fire. Also costumes made with flimsy materials or with baggy sleeves or billowing skirts should be avoided as they can easily come in contact with burning candles or other sources of flame. These Halloween safety tips are the most important as fire poses a major hazard during halloween celebrations.
5. It is better to apply a natural mask of cosmetics for children rather than loose fitting masks that may obscure vision and restrict breathing. If children insist on using masks then make sure that they fit securely and the eyeholes are large enough to ensure unrestricted vision at all times.
