Veterans Day Celebration in Albany, NY 2007 gives the state capital a chance to stand tall. For most of the year Albany seems to almost pride itself on keeping a relatively low profile, especially when compared to other New York state cities like Syracuse, Buffalo and especially New York City. But Albany won't be quiet on Veterans Day 2007. Like many other state capitals across the country, the City of Albany, NY will be taking to the streets for this years celebration of Veterans Day.

Parade Particulars. The City of Albany has determined to skip by the traditional November 11 date for its Veterans Day Celebration as the 11th this year falls on a Sunday. Instead the city will take advantage of the holiday date on November 12, 2007 to celebrate Veterans Day this year with a city parade beginning at 11 a.m. The parade route is set up to make use of Central Ave and Partridge St. and to bring folks to a dramatic conclusion as the parade ends right near the State Capitol. While the City will not march on November 11, in deference to the tradition associated with the original celebrations of Veterans Day, the parade will actually step off at 11:11 a.m. This marks the exact hour and minute when the Armistice ending World War I was signed on November 11 in 1918.
