Review of Sal's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria - Tecumseh, Michigan

Tecumseh, Michigan has some great spots to dine at. One of those little gems is a restaurant locals simply refer to as Sal's. Inside the ambiance is warm, with Italian mementos dotting the walls and tables. The restaurant seats around 100 people, and is usually filled to capacity. Sal's serves many different menu items that appeal to everyone. One of their specialties, their Alfredo pizza is to die for! It has Alfredo sauce, chicken and Italian vegetables on it, which sounds gross to you at first, but then you get the pizza and dig in and it is so good. The other specialty I like is their bread sticks. They give you a lot for a reasonable price, and you can literally eat half the order just for lunch. Served with warm pizza sauce, they are simply delicious! They do deep fry them, so for the health-conscious, they may just want to nibble on them, but for everyone else, eat 'em up!

Also on the menu is a good lasagna and a great chicken parmigiana. You can buy the dinner portion and split it between two people, it is that huge. Their salads are good, too, with juicy tomatoes and crispy greens, if you are watching what you eat. Sal's has recently opened up a new restaurant, in nearby Adrian, Michigan, that has been simply named Sal's II. They offer the same great Italian food and the quality is still great.

The only complaint I would have of dining in at Sal's is their customer service. It does seem at times that the wait is too long (sometimes around an hour to be seated), and the waitresses seem to be too hurried. I have had one waitress forget our drinks, even after asking her for them. The drinks finally arrived, but after the salad had been eaten. The waitresses do not smile enough, which is something that can make poor service a little bit better.
