"Cardholder Services" - Nuisance

Have you ever received those annoying calls from, "Michelle," "Rachel," "Heather," or some other name from "Cardholder Services"? Lately, they have been adding calls from "Health Services" as well. I suppose, it's because it's the season, where most people have to sign up for next year's
health insurance coverage. People are more likely to fall into the trap. If you received calls like that, you know what I'm talking about. If not, you have been lucky. But if you ever do receive a call like that, hang up immediately! Don't push any buttons, and most definitely don't give out any information! My experience will let you know, why.

Our phone number is on the national "Do-not-Call" list. Therefore, we should be protected from telemarketers. Per the rules, we should only have to deal with the calls from political or charity organizations. And of course from those companies we do business with and agreed to them calling our number. Any other telemarketer has to pay hefty fines, if they dial our number. Furthermore, since the "Do-not-Call" list has only been around for less than five years, we also could not yet have forgotten to re-register our number, a current requirement of the national "Do-not-Call" list. (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/388138/donotcall_list_requires_reregistration.html)

Therefore, if we are under the protection of the "Do-not-Call" list, we should not have to deal with these annoying "Cardholder Services" calls, right? We should be able to give this company a warning that our number is on the list, and they should immediately stop calling our house. Well, think again, because therein was my big mistake.

I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry. I think the company should be set up as an example. I receive calls from "Rachel" every couple of weeks. Several times, I asked to be removed from their list, and was told I was. The calls continue. Now, when I ask for contact information, they simply hang up on me. What use is a National Do Not Call registry if there's no way to identify who's calling illegally?

At least one of their offices is in Virginia, and I've got the address. I've had very little help from the local police or phone company. Perhaps it's time for a friendly reminder that phone numbers are not that difficult to trace. They've got a few more warnings coming to them from my end, at which point I'm taking this into my own hands. They've got no right to be harassing my family. But, call it karma if you like, perhaps it's time for them to get a taste of their own medicine. I'm sure they've all got families of their own, after all...

Thr Bush Administration is no longer with us. Unfortunately this company is alive and well. Don't be so stupid

I, too, have been receiving these illegal calls and after all Susanne Jones went through to try to trace them down to no avail, I think we should all buy a whistle. At least that will give us some satisfaction for being annoyed with this stupid stuff.

I kept getting these phone calls over and over everyday. We do not even have any credit cards which is the real bothersome part. However, I went through the process of being connected to a service rep, and then proceeded to curse them out and told them they need to stop calling people trying to steal information, as it is nothing more than a scam, I must have gotten a new employee, and she was claiming that it was not, that they told her it was all legal and what not, and I told her, how is it not a scam when they are having her call people without credit cards? She stoped and thought about it for a minute, told who ever was standing next to her, that she quits, and the man picked up the phone and I started asking for their legit information, are they associated with the BBB, did they have a direct phone number for consumers to call, and he told me that was none of my biz, and then slammed the phone down hanging up on me. I hope that they stop calling my number as I have caught them

I get these calls at work in Canada, up to three times a day. When I'm not busy I talk to the representative. I make them repeat themselves several times and then go on about how it's great they can get me credit for three thousand dollars. My goal is to reach the five minute mark. Last week I got up to almost 4 minutes before she hung up on me. LOL!!!! I did call me credit card company to ask about this "scam" if you do give them your information they contact your credit card company and see if they will lower your rates. (Anyone can call to have this done at any time I just lowered 3 cards 1.5 percent each) If they get your rate lowered they will then charge your credit card up to $500. What a deal! It took me 5 minutes to have mine lowered. Once I reach 5 minutes of waisting thier time I just might go for 10!
