My oldest son is at the age where he has begun wanting friends to come over and stay the night. We all know there are unlimited possibilities for fun things to do when girls have sleepovers, but what about boys? So I began a list of all the fun activities we might be able to do to make the sleepover night as fun as possible.

Boys can pretty much find anything to do and it will be fun for them, however as parents we want to make this night special for them and their friends. This as we all know, is not a normal night at home for our kids. Boys don't want to bake, have of course no interest in anything closely related to gossip, beauty, etc. like girls do. Boys are boys, rough and tumble, get your hands dirty ... well, BOYS!

Things you can do may be pretty limited if your budget is low, but there are plenty of things you can plan to do around your house! If you happen to have a large backyard, set up a tent on a nice night and let the boys camp out. Cook hamburgers or hot dogs, let them catch bugs and put them in bug containers to proudly show off. If you have a basketball goal, get a game of HORSE going and even join in! Who doesn't have a boy who loves to play video games, have an all night game-a-thon, or rent a new kids bestseller movie and pop some popcorn.

Other ideas could be to get the kids out of the house and take them somewhere that they might not often get to go. Putt-putt golf is a great idea, and many putt putt golf courses are themed and have video games to play also. Our local mall recently put in a Lunar Golf, which is inside a building that has black lights every where and is really pretty cool!

Laser tag could be another option, take the boys, strap on some vests and see who can get the other out as many times as possible. And what kid doesn't just love Chuckie Cheese? Games, pizza, karaoke and prizes, I know my kids always get excited as soon as this place is mentioned.

Thanks for the wonderful ideas. It is nice to know that there are other things for boys to do besides wrestle!
