Vacationing on the Beaches of Barbados

Many treasures exist within the Caribbean islands. Barbados is just one of these great places. This island, which also happens to be an independent country, lies close to South America about 250 miles east from the Venezuelan coast. Barbados, east of St. Lucia and north of Trinidad and Tobago, is only about 165 square miles of land. The beautiful rain forests, tropical trade winds, and gorgeous sandy beaches are the reasons why this Caribbean island is such a popular worldwide tourist destination. Out of all the developing countries in the world, Barbados is the 4th most developed. Despite its small size, practically every island resident enjoys a very high standard of living, and that standard extends to vacationers who travel there every year; therefore, you can expect your vacation to Barbados' beaches to be nothing short of spectacular.
Getting to Barbados
More than likely you'll be traveling by air and will fly into the only major airport on the island, Sir Grantley Adams International Airport. This airport is a major hub of the Caribbean region, and many major international airlines will fly into this airport from anywhere in the world. No matter where you're traveling in the Caribbean, you may end up flying into Barbados to catch another plane or cruise to a neighboring island.
Going to the Beach
The beach activities on Barbados are some of the best things you can do while you're vacationing there. Since the waters are perfect for it, surfing has become very popular. The Soup Bowl, located nearby Bathsheba, is the popular surfing destination. But the southern and western coasts have the most popular beaches, and you can enjoy any number of sunny days lying and sunbathing on the sand.
