The most important protection gear of hockey consists of skates, shin pads, gloves, hockey pants/girdles and obviously helmets. Jerseys, shorts and socks are traditionally made of synthetic material like nylon though many professional players prefer base layer shirt constructed with Dri-Fit fabrics. A player’s hip bones and thigh bones are at risk; unless, a perfect tested short is chosen while playing. Ventilation, stretch/mobility and durability are the main features of girdles/pants. The pants/girdles, long enough to reach past the top of the shin pads; can guarantee adequate protection. Gloves made of synthetic leather guarantee quality, durability, fit and functions; are essential to protect your fingers from any form of injury. Elbow pads; are designed to protect fore-arm, elbow and bicep. Flexibility to move faster and to play without any problem is the USP of an elbow pad. The hard caps in shoulder pads, elbow pads, and shins must be intact and in good condition.

Skate; is traditionally made of leather or nylon for the protection of feet and lower legs from injury. When looking for a pair of skates, remember to have your heel tucked back into the heel cup to feel the space for the ankle and toe. The space more than a quarter of an inch won’t be comfortable. The skates with good ankle support are ideal; for the players whose ankle is weaker. The mask made from metal wire or transparent plastic; is attached to the helmet to protect the player’s face. Except in the mask made of metal wire; the outer part of the mask composed of a strong space polymer material, and the inside of the mask contains foam.
