The Blue Angels, a U.S. Navy flight demonstration team, are performing in Hawaii again this weekend. This is first time that the Blue Angels are performing here since 2004, and the third time in Hawaii in the last two decades. Due to the Blue Angels' strong appeal among the general populace and the relative rarity of these air shows in Hawaii, more than 100,000 people are expected to show up to this exciting event.

The Blue Angels will be a part of the 2007 Blues on the Bay, which will be taking place this Saturday and Sunday, October 13th and 14th, at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kane'ohe Bay on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The events start at 9 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. each day and include carnival rides, a car show and autograph sessions with some of the celebrities who will be there.

The Blue Angels air show itself will be taking place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will star the Blue Angels. Besides the Blue Angels, several other performances will be taking place including stunts by aerobatic pilots and performances using helicopters, U.S. Air Force aircraft and skydiving.

These events are all free and open for anyone to come. However, you can buy tickets at Ticketmaster.com for special seating. Free parking is located on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kane'ohe Bay, or you can ride a shuttle from off-site for $4 per person.

The Blue Angels are formerly known as the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron and were originally formed 60 years ago. At the time, was the only military aerial demonstration squadron in the world.

The Blue Angels is made up of six airplanes. They are known for doing strategic, synchronized flights in sequence with each other. While every performance can be different, at the end of their routine all six aircraft fly together in the Delta formation followed by a dramatic, twisting closing "dance."

"I am excited to go to their performance," says one Oahu resident who doesn't live far from the Kane'ohe Bay Marine Corps Base. "I've never seen them perform before, but I've heard it's pretty cool."
