What does it mean to need God? It would mean not to lean to your own understanding and to acknowledge God in all of your ways. To lean not to our own understanding would mean not to limit ourselves by our human understanding because man's understanding is limited. It would mean to talk to God about everything because He knows everything, man does not. It would mean to seek God for guidance before making decisions and especially before making very important decisions. Why would we need to talk to God first about anything? It's because God knows our beginning and our end. He's our creator.

The world is in such a shambles today simply because people do not acknowledge God in all our ways. People choose to do precisely what He has asked us not to do which is to lean to their own understanding. They feel that they can handle it all, but in actuality we can not. God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. He has the answers to all of life's concerns, but if we don't acknowledge Him before making decisions, then of course man will make great mistakes because man is imperfect.

Considering how the world is in such a mess, it is quite evident that yes, people do need God. However, because we were all created to be free will agents, each and every one of us has the right to choose to acknowledge God or not. As a result, those who do not choose to acknowledge God, but choose to lean to their own understanding instead, will generally be the very ones who will cause greater problems in the earth by making bad decisions.

Some do not feel that they need to acknowledge God because they do not believe that God exist. However, just taking the time to look up at the wonders of the heavens and at the wonders of nature can point to the existence of a higher power, but for many this is still not enough for them to realize that God exist let alone recognize that they also need Him as well.
