The Ergo Baby Carrier - The Best Thing That's Out There!

Why choose The ERGO Baby Carrier? With the market full of baby slings, wraps, and carriers, one might imagine this is just one more carrier, like any of the rest of them! The ERGO Baby Carrier is quite different than anything that is out there though. You can carry your baby from newborn (with the Infant Insert) until they are 60 lbs! I haven’t found anything that holds your infant that long, with just one carrier. I was quite skeptical of the claims that the ERGO company made, but decided to go ahead and give it a try when I had my second son. I was delighted when I received it, and it has lived up to all it claims to be!

What makes a baby carrier different from baby slings? For a parent who is serious about carrying your baby for hours in a day, the Ergo is the pain-free answer! Not only that, but it can be a one-size-fit all carrier for Mom and Dad with a handy waist extender if needed. A sling is wonderful for nursing, but my experience has been that it hurts my shoulder if I use mine for a long time. The ERGO has barely caused me any discomfort. The two shoulder straps are very well padded, and the waist support takes a lot of the weight off of your shoulders. I look forward to using it as my little one gets even bigger. I have tried the other front pack carriers on the market, and none of them compare in comfort with the ERGO.

So, what should a new parent get to carry their baby in? Unfortunately, there is not one right answer! Each parent is so different, and the needs of each family vary considerably. My personal opinion is that a sling is wonderful for the first couple of months, as it makes breastfeeding much easier to have them right there. When your baby is not very heavy, a sling is the perfect solution to keep them close. As your baby gets heavier, 4-5 months I heartily recommend the ERGO baby carrier. You will have the comfort of moving hands-free as you are busy cleaning, walking, etc. with your baby right there with you!
