Shop-Vac Model 92P350 Review

Need a Larger Shop Vacuum with a Water Pump, Try the Model 92P350 from Shop-Vac

Shop-Vac Model 92P350 Review Need a larger Shop Vacuum with a water pump, try the model 92P350 from Shop-Vac. It has a large capacity for quick cleanup jobs and converts in seconds to a water pump for cleaning up water easily. I was looking for a model of shop vacuum that included the
internal water pump so I could pump water out of my basement and found all I wanted in the Shop-Vac Model 92P350. The Shop-Vac I bought for $80 included the 2 ½ inch diameter 6 foot hose, two wand extensions, an 8 inch nozzle, the water pickup elbow, a cartridge filter, foam sleeve and the tool holder. There is also the parts you hook up in the tank for water pickup that are needed for the water pump. I needed a new shop vacuum and wanted to upgrade my previous one to the newer kind that included a water pump to clean up water leaking into my basement. I looked at the few companies around and kept going back to the very popular brand of Shop-Vac. The model I chose has the water pump and a few of the attachments. It also included the highly useful filter cartridge. I have had a Shop-Vac in the past and started using the filter cartridge with it and continue to use it now. It simply pushes on the cage where the ball or float that prevents water from entering the motor area and has a twist on cap that hooks to the bottom of the cage. It filters out dust and is much easier to use than the foam sleeve and a paper filter. The foam sleeve is still needed for water or wet pickup, though. To convert my model of Shop-Vac to a water pump you open up the canister by flipping the two large latches off the body, empty all the contents, then attach a hose and filter to the bottom of the cage. This prevents debris from going through the water pump, that is located with the motor. You also have to change the filter to the foam sleeve. Then you turn the nozzle that the hose attaches to around so it points up instead of down and put the motor back on top and latch. Then using the red attachment to pick up the water and you hook a garden hose to the water outlet which you run outside or to a drain. I use a shorter hose from a washing machine to drain the water into my basement sink, quite convenient for my uses. The red attachment has a hole in the side of the nozzle so you don’t get the nozzle sucked to the floor as you use it. It’s that easy. And quick. I like this model and brand of vacuum for several reasons. The rollers on the base sit out from the body for stability. It takes a cord getting under a roller or something similar to tip over the vacuum as you roll it across a floor, dragging it by the hose. I found the larger latches a better feature than my previous one, much easier to open and close. The large on off switch is easy to use and the bottom drain is nice if you have a quick clean up job with water and don’t want to hook up the water pump. Simply remove the bottom drain plug over a nearby floor drain to empty the tank. This model has an outlet for attaching the hose to and using as a blower. A feature that I probably won’t use much but some may find it a handy feature. Another nice thing about going with a nationally known company, replacement parts are easy to come by. No having to go to that one store to purchase a new filter. The tool rack holds some of the tools that can be purchased for the Shop-Vac and the two extension wands. The hose has a clip that you use to wrap the hose around the body of the vacuum while it is still hooked to the inlet and hook to itself for easy storage and quick use later. Over all I am quite happy with my purchase. The Shop-Vac has plenty of power to cleanup after my various projects and current construction work I am doing for a friend. The water pump feature is simple and takes a few seconds, okay a minute or so, but it is quite easy to use. The body design is sturdy and hard to tip over. The wheels are attached to the body with metal posts and not plastic ones. A feature I was pleased with as my previous smaller model broke a wheel off after only a few months, the cheaper plastic wheel post. The Shop-Vac model 92P series is a good buy. I would highly recommend it for medium and large cleanup jobs and water cleanup whether using the water pump or just sucking up some liquids and draining the tank.
