An old fishpond houseslotus flowers and water nuts trembling
in a sea of lily leaves
distributed like empty plates facing skyward
umbrellas to fishes below.
Aquamarine lily leaves embrace
creation under the heavens
nesting fishes in their shade.
Offspring are bounteous;
water nuts for children,
pink lotus flowers adorning the waters
and the likeness of Lakshmi.
Be placid like lilies,
open to ideas
provide help when needed
and accept children as
God's gifts.
