If you are planning a party, why not plan an international theme party? Having a party is a great way to entertain your friends and family as well as employees. An international theme party is easy and fun to plan and will be something your guests will remember for a long time to come.

You can choose just about any country to be the theme of your international theme party. I chose Greece. Anything that you want to learn about this fascinating and beautiful country can be found on the internet. It also helps that I know how to make some good Greek food.

My Greek themed party began with the invitations. I chose a Greek-inspired border around the invitations and was able to easily do this on my computer. I used an online language conversion and converted Party to Greek letters and used my word processing program to print these letters on the invitation.

The inside of the invitation was written in English and I explained to my guests that I was giving a Greek themed party so they didn't think they received some invitation that was meant for someone else. I gave the details such as date, time, address and phone number to RSVP. I told them to wear togas. Togas are easy to get - you simply wrap a sheet around yourself. Toga parties were once popular on college campuses, ala "Animal House" but I didn't want this to be a drunken fiasco, so I continued planning. I also prayed that they knew enough to wear clothing under the sheets.

Greek food is delicious when properly prepared and this is one of the few cuisines I do well. If you want to have a Greek theme party but don't know how to make Greek food find a good Greek restaurant that caters. Otherwise, go Italian instead. Your guests can still wear togas as they were worn in ancient Rome as well as ancient Greece.
