The popular CW series "Supernatural" hits another high point in Episode 16, "Road Kill", once again showing a depth that makes it much more than a "monster and demon" show. Padelicki and Ackles put in skilled performances as usual; not so much as grizzled demon hunters, but rather as bickering but loyal, loving brothers. Their chemistry is so natural; it's not hard to imagine them as tight-knit siblings rather than actors. Also putting in a powerful performance is guest star Tricia Helfer; she of the slinky-red dress and peroxide-blond hair fame from the Sci Fi Channel's original series "Battlestar Galactica", and she proves to be more than just pretty Cylon-eye-candy, but a skilled actress needing work worthy of flexing her thespian muscles. Backing up that assertion is the fact that "Supernatural" garnered its largest audience with this episode - 3.5million viewers - since Oct. 26, 2006
Initially, the plot's pretty standard of the series so far: Molly McNamara, played by Tricia Helfer, is traveling a deserted back-woods interstate with her husband David, (Dan Gauthier, Son-in-Law), when she swerves to avoid a ghostly figure alongside the road. They careen into a tree downhill, and when she awakens in their wrecked car, her husband is gone. Wandering through the rain in a dark forest, desperately searching for David, she runs into a farmer whom she asks for help: woe it is to find he's this episode's demonic villain as his face rots into skeletal ruins and he pursues her through the woods.
