Dark clouds overhead
The trees show their sadness
by crying leaves
In the cold air
On this gloomy, sad day.
Scheduled wakes and funerals
And people die
right on cue.
No one celebrating today
Either reading a book
Watching the news
Crying their eyes out
Or napping unpeacefully
Ghosts dancing in their heads
Bad dreams playing
like motion pictures
On this cold, gloomy day.
