Cheap Birthday Gift Ideas for Boys

The unwritten rule at many kids class birthday parties is that gifts must be priced under $5. This is a really tough price limit to hit. There really isn't that many decent toys out there that are cheap in price without being cheap in quality. Sure, there's
the dollar store, but those toys fall apart within days and for my money, I'd rather spend $5 on quality birthday gifts that last. Fortunately, there are still some fabulous birthday gift bargains for boys that cost less than $5.

The original metal slinky is still entertaining kids and adults alike after 60 years. It's still bargain priced at a mere $3.99 and will last through miles of staircases.

Matchbox cars are another one of the timeless toys that are wonderful birthday gifts for boys of all ages. There's a terrific selection of Matchbox cars that range between $1.99 to $3.99 in price.

Yep, there's a Nerf product that fits in this price range. The ever popular Nerf basketball set fits on the back of a door, and entertains kids from ages 3 to 99. This bargain priced product is only $3.99.

The Lego company puts out an assortment of boxed Lego sets that range around $3.99. These sets typically hold from 25-56 pieces, and contain all the pieces to build pint sized robots, animals, vehicles, space ships and more. You can't ever go wrong with Legos!

You can still buy a classic Duncan yo-yo for $4.99. And remember Frisbees? The Frisbee classic is still priced at a very affordable $2.79. And, let's not forget that perennial classic, Silly Putty. The original silly putty is still only 99¢. All of these products makes fabulous gifts for boys of all ages.

Balsa gliders are those great little light weight airplanes that you assemble yourself and propel with a rubber band. Quality gliders range in price between $1.29 to $4.49 for a deluxe glider.

Another timeless birthday gift is a kite. Single line kites start at $2.99; don't forget to include a roll of kite string!

Action figures always make terrific birthday gifts, with many priced just below $4.99. For budding engineers, there's also a handful of snap together models of cars, rockets, and animal skeletons for less than $5.
