Product Review: Keebler (Butter Pecan Drop) Shortbread Sandies
Are They as Good as the Keebler Fudge Drops?
My husband does not discriminate when it comes to sweets. I, on the other hand, am somewhat of a snob about sweets. It has to be really "all that" to entice me if it does not have chocolate in it. I was prepared not to like this cookie.
Product Information:
The cookies come in a small 9.5 oz. package and are small cookies. They are the same size as the Keebler Fudge Drop Sandies, which is about the size of a silver dollar. The serving size suggested on the package is 4 cookies. In that serving size, there are 7 grams of fat with 3.5 grams being saturated fat. There is no trans fat. There are 140 calories per serving. I paid $3.37 for the cookies at the local Neighborhood Wal-mart.
Recommendation:
First of all, let me state for the record, that we were having out of state company and I tossed my good judgment to the wind and paid the full price for the cookies. Usually, I would never pay this much for such a small package. Wal-mart will offer a sale and/or I will have a coupon. To top off the fact that I paid the $3.37, we did not even open the cookies while the company was in town. I do not recommend that you do that unless you do not have to watch the grocery bill. I paid $2.50 for the Fudge Drop cookies and that is quite a bit for such a small package. However, I can say that I have enjoyed the cookies even though they do not have any chocolate in them. My husband loves them. The cookies are the standard Keebler shortbread, but have the addition of pecan flavored bits in the shortbread. The ingredient list states that the bits are actually cornflakes that are pecan flavored. Keebler has done a good job of making the cornflakes taste just like bits of pecans. The center is a delicious soft drop of something that tastes like a light maple flavored butter. Of course, the ingredient list just states "artificial flavor". They are not going to give away any secrets.
