I wasn't that impressed with the thought of pita chips at first. I've always thought of pita chips as too thick and bready. I usually prefer my chips on the thin side. My husband wanted to try them though so we purchased a 6 ounce bag for $1.99.
When we got home I took a chip after my husband tried them and said they were delicious. I had to see for myself. As I tasted the first chip my first impression was that the chips were indeed too thick for my tastes. However, there was potential there because of the sea salt flavor. I decided to eat a few more for my taste test.
As I ate a few more chips I paid more attention to the sea salt flavor. One side of the chip has the sea salt flavor which I found delicious. I really enjoyed the flavor and the crunchiness of these chips. I have even purchased a couple of bags since that first time. I've had a few people try them and they had the same impression as I did. This chip definitely grows on you. You like them the more you eat them.

If you purchase the Trader Joe's Pita Chips with Sea Salt, be sure to eat each chip with the sea salt side facing down. That way you will be able to taste and savor the salty flavor better. This is how I eat them when I'm in the mood for a salty snack. If you want a more muted salt taste, eat the chip on the smoother side.
I have yet to try these pita chips with a dip, but the thickness of each chip lends itself well to eating with a dip. I'd suggest the following dip flavors with the sea salt pita chips: bean dip, hummus dip and creamy artichoke dip.
