I got a coupon in the mail for a free 0.8 oz travel size tube of Aquafresh Extreme Clean Toothpaste with micro-active foaming action - whitening mint experience. Since it was free, I figured I would try it and write a review.

The box itself is orange and blue and white, with little shooting stars on it. The toothpaste tube looks like something that belongs in a space shuttle because of the matte silver color. It was not very attractive. The toothpaste itself is white with orange stripes running through it.

I squeezed the usual dollop of paste onto my toothbrush and could really smell the strong mint scent. I'm not much of a mint type person, but if you are this might be something you want to try.

When I started brushing, the inside of my mouth and my nasal passages were assaulted with an extreme mint sensation, almost to the point of being menthol like the Vicks Mentholatum you rub on your kids chest when they have a cold. This was not pleasant at all. I was tempted to spit it out right then but wanted to give the product a true test.

After brushing for only a few seconds more, the toothpaste started to sort of foam up inside my mouth. I didn't like that because I felt like I needed to spit and wasn't finished brushing my teeth yet. I brushed a few more minutes and couldn't stand it any longer, so I spit out the foamy stuff. I was a thick foam, not light and airy. Kind of gross actually.

My mouth did feel extremely clean afterwards though, and my breath was quite minty, but the inside of mouth and tongue were tingly from the extreme mint. I had to rinse with water several times more than usual to get the tingly sensation to stop. When they say "Extreme" in the name of their product, they aren't kidding! This stuff is indeed extreme.

I'm glad I didn't have to pay for the toothpaste and will not buy it. If you want to try this product you can get a free coupon on their website at http://www.aquafresh.com/

From the website:

Aquafresh Extreme Clean has all the triple protection of Aquafresh, plus micro-active foam that protects teeth and showers your mouth with germ-killing bubbles, fighting the sources of bad breath for a clean feeling like no other.

I really dislike those toothpastes that are so minty they seem to burn the inside of the mouth ~ thanks for your review!

I read the Rambrandt is useless for whitening and Ultrabright one of those .99 toothpastes is actually the best on the market.
