IMPORTANT NOTE: ALWAYS READ THE ENTIRE LABEL TO MAKE SURE THE MEDICINAL HERBAL PRODUCT DOES NOT CONTAIN SOMETHING THAT YOU MAY BE ALLERGIC TO AND WON'T MIX WELL WITH OTHER MEDICATIONS YOU'RE TAKING.

Little known facts

Found mostly in the Mediterranean and center Asia, this semi-woody plant belongs to a genus of 10-12 species in the Lamiaceae family.

Hyssop is Greek for "holy herb."

Hyssop has a long history as a cleansing herb. Look under Psalms 51:7. It reads, "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean...."

It is said that hyssop was thrown on the floors of sick-rooms and even used to improve the odor in kitchens as far back as the seventh century.

Culpepper believed that if you mixed hyssop with honey, you will rid the belly of worms.

Later, back in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, hyssop was used in tea and poultices form to reduce perspiration and treat jaundice.

True effects

Hyssop is great for strengthening the immune system.

Oddly enough, as much as hyssop can reduce perspiration in tea form, it can also help the healing process by creating sweat.

Hyssop is great for blood regulation.

Hyssop is great for the mucus lining the stomach and the intestines.

Treat eye trouble with hyssop.

Due to the quantity of essential hormone oils in hyssop, you can fight infections diseases with the herb.

Get rid of phlegm in the bronchial area, and inflammation of the breast with some hyssop.

Hyssop is terrific for treating coughs from colds, and nose and throat infection.

Perhaps it will, perhaps it won't, but I certainly felt better after taking hyssop for a week. I felt like I could run a marathon. I could swear I was stronger and lighter on my feet.

Disorders, irritations, ailments, and bodily systems treated by Hyssop

Amenorrhea - Ladies, you all should know what this is, especially if you've already started having menstrual periods. For anyone who doesn't know what this is - guys, I'll let you know. I liked the article, Luke. I think you'd enjoy the book "The Fantastic Voyage", by Ray Kurzweil. He's a deeply science-based researcher, and goes to lengths to show the true effect of supplements on health, as opposed to medicine. His other great book, "The Singularity is Near" discusses the future of mankind, with over 150 pages of bibliography to back it up. He's a smart guy, and gives some very good nutritional/alternative medicine advice.
