Parents and educators can use this guide to find information on where homeschoolers and students can see real Medieval art, artifacts and weapons from the Middle Ages in person. This homeshcool curriculum resource for Medieval history also includes some very unique demonstrations related to the Middle Ages.

Homeschool Curriculum: Medieval Art and Artifacts

Viewing art and artifacts from Medieval times is one surefire way to get homeschoolers and students excited about learning. All of these museums contain artifacts and art from Medieval times.

Medieval Art and Tapestries

One of the places where homeschoolers and students can view Medieval art, including tapestries is the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Homeschool students studying Medieval times can view some paintings and tapestries from that historical time.

The Gothic Room is one must-stop in the museum for Medieval works. The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is located at 280 The Fenway, in Boston, Massachusetts, 02115. For more information call 617.566.1401

Medieval Architecture

While the castle itself is only built in a Medieval style, and does not actually date back to the Middle Ages, many of the items inside do. Homeschoolers and students can get a chance to see Medieval timesstyle architecture up close.

The castle's original owner, John Hays Hammond, Jr. , built the castle to display his artifacts that date to Roman times, Medieval times, and the Renaissance.

The castle itself will keep homeschoolers and students interested in Medieval times, as will the many authentic objects.

On occasion the Hammond Castle Museum hosts events related to Medieval times, including plays. The Hammond Castle Museum is located on Herspurs Avenue in Gloucester, Massachusetts. For more information call (978) 283-7673.
