A week or so ago, I was browsing a site reserved for popular, and or breaking news in the fashion industry.

This is what I discovered. Apparently, when wearing a low-cut or wrap around blouse, women would rather that their boobs NOT pop out. Who knew? Well, seems that the fashion industry didn't know. But, having caught wind of this alarming news--they've gotten right on it. The situation, after much brainstorming, experimentation, and I'm assuming more than a few power-point presentations--has now been rectified.

Thus, the birth of a truly genius invention. This new product, will most likely go global-- promising to thwart the escape of even the most willful of freedom-seeking boobs. Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you--The Bosom Button.

The Bosom Button is actually a pin. Much like a tie tack, it is a decorative head attached to a push-through pin, with a separate clasp (or 'back') to hold it in place. It is designed to be strategically placed on the blouse, between, yet slightly above the breasts--at that exact place where the blouse sags, or gapes. Brilliant. Each Bosom Button is handmade with a Swarovski crystal, and is eight millimeters in diameter. Available at bosombutton.com (seriously), it currently comes in ten colors: Crystal, Silver, Topaz, Jet Black, White Pearl, Rose, Fuchsia, Amethyst, Peridot, and Aqua.

I found writing about the Bosom Button to be an irresistible temptation on many levels. These are three of them: 1) The fact that some women actually find this to be a wonderful invention; 2) That there are women physically analyzing it, and 3) That the only intelligent analysis that I could find was written by a man.

I will warn you that if you dislike articles riddled with direct quotes, you may want to stop reading. In this case, I simply couldn't help myself. If you're still here, in spite of the impending direct quotes, let's take a look at number one.

The Long-Awaited Bosom Button: Women Cheer

Takeaways
  • The Bosom Button is designed to keep gaping blouses closed.
  • The Bosom Button comes in ten colors.
  • The Bosom Button is similar to a tie tack, and is made of real Swarovski crystal.
Did You Know?
Research shows that women actually DON'T want their breasts to pop out of their blouse.

This is really funny. However, being the cheapskate that I am, when I find myself having bosom issues I either use a safety pin, install a lace or decorative fabric insert, or wear a camisole underneath. Each of those things have helped. I have plenty of pins (can't seem to throw out the jewelry I have amassed over the years) so I can use one of those if I need a decorative pin. But, if you use a decorative pin, the eye is naturally going to be drawn to it, so it won't be keeping men from checking out your chest. Certain types of necklaces have the exact same effect. Great article!

Hello readers, 1)I have not yet been able to get this edited, so please excuse any misspellings etc. 2)Please know that this is NOT meant to be mean-spirited in ANY way. It's really just a silly satire. Many kudos to the inventor of the Bosom Button. Yes, I think we all wish we would have thought of that. ;-)

Lighten up folks. Endangered animals are being slaughtered for fashion, the majority of the industry is ladden with meat-deficient models that girls ages 5 and up are emulating and female celebs are scaringly starting to look like each another. With all this said, I don't think the Bosom Button is the worst of fashion's problem or even a bad idea. And for larger-chested females who don't find delight with wearing tops that obviously weren't cut for them even though they are available in their sizes, this product is a god-sent. I, on the other end, wouldn't mind accessoring some of my designer jeans/slacks with it! It would also make sporting my scarves this fall/winter easier.

Wish I had thought of it!

Yeah, and if the picture is an example of a well-endowed female experiencing the problem addressed herein, I really wanna see that damn picture!;)

Interesting read. Being a small breasted woman, I have never had the boob-popping-out problem. I do however use a safety pin on occasion to keep low cut blouses from sagging. Sounds like another opportunity for someone to make a few bucks! :)

What a surprise concept in the fashion industry. At my age, I am glad my boobs DO stick out and not sag. I'll let the young girls buy the bosom buttons. Well, maybe I'll get some turquoise ones if it really catches on. Thanks for the latest and greatest info.
